Sharon Kunkel, 73 of Clinton, passed away on March 5, 2013 at the Saline Evangelical Home. She was born on October 4, 1939 the daughter of George and Ellen (Horn) Clifford. On August 8, 1959 she married Larry Kunkel and he survives.
Sharon was a member and very active in the Clinton United Church of Christ. She worked for over 20 years as a special education teacher in Porter Center where she retired in 2002. Sharon loved working with the children and being involved in Special Olympics. She also enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, quilting and sewing. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Larry, Sharon is survived by one son Daniel (Lori) Kunkel of Tipton; two daughters Sandra Caveney of Boise, ID and Rebecca (Eric) Haft of Tecumseh; one brother Russell (Jan) Clifford of Cottage Grove, OR; one sister Patricia (Stephen) Woodbury of Westland, MI; and four grandchildren Jeremy, Marissa, Alexis and Rachel. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Vicki and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 8 from 5-8 P.M. at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday at the Clinton United Church of Christ with Reverend Diane White officiating. Visitation will also be from 10 AM until the time of services on Saturday. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.
